Mr. Strawn opened Strawn's Eat Shop across from Centenary College on Kings Highway.

The Gauthier family purchased the restaurant after many successful decades for the restaurant.

As South Shreveport grew, so did one of its favorite diners. Strawn’s Eat Shop “Too” opened on E. 70th Street, providing South Shreveport with the same burgers, fried chicken, and homemade pies served at the original location, now considered a local staple.

Strawn’s Eat Shop “Too” moved further south to its permanent location at 7803 Youree Drive. This central location provided customers with better parking, as well as easier access to the restaurant from both Youree Drive and Bert Kouns Industrial Loop.

Strawn’s Eat Shop “Too” continues to serve its faithful customers and holds tightly to the tradition of homemade food, such as biscuits and pancakes, fresh eggs, in-house breaded chicken and chicken fried steaks, and most of all, its famous iced-box pies made from scratch.
